The New Year is rapidly approaching and....'We're back!' Renee and I are coming back to share new information and and an amazing new program to 'JUMP START' your 2010!!! NOW is the time to invite your favorite galpals, sisters, Moms, aunts, cousins & women you know who could use a direct shot of vitamin B-12 to the heart & soul. An extra bonus* Would you like to be part of the program this year?
I am requesting volunteers to write a 50 word life story (That means utilize word count on your computer as it must be 50 words...no more no less..) I have been using this exercise in self discovery all over the country & it has been a huge hit. here are a couple examples:
1) Bonnie was born a natural story teller. From age 5 through 59, great joy has come from entertaining & inspiring others. Her core values were honed by association with the YMCA centered around the connections of spirit mind & body. Wife, mom, GGBon, friend, walker, gardener, decorator, inspirtainer, that’s her!
2) Cathy is hugely curious, loves learning, deeply respects the earth and gardens, and is a loving mother, wife, and coach. Cathy’s legacy will be having lived lights-on and spreading that light to the world through Clarity International, seeing all in that realm as flowers in the garden of her heart.
So create yours and email it to me at Bonniedean@comcast.net ASAP. Several will be included in the program and all will be complied to share with the other attendees. Remember how much we laughed out loud last year? I know there was someone you wished had been there with you... CALL THEM!!! Let's do it again in 2010 & make it even more memorable. Don't miss this spectacular 'Girl Party' - You are all so special and I can't wait to see you again.
Hugs and Fairy Dust

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM). Since the program began in 1985, mammography rates have more than doubled for women age 50 and older and breast cancer deaths have declined.
This is exciting progress, but there are still women who do not take advantage of early detection at all and others who do not get screening mammograms and clinical breast exams at regular intervals.
· Women age 65 and older are less likely to get mammograms than younger women, even though breast cancer risk increases with age.
· Hispanic women have fewer mammograms than Caucasian women and African American women.
· Women below poverty level are less likely than women at higher incomes to have had a mammogram within the past two years.
· Mammography use has increased for all groups except American Indians and Alaska Natives.
“If all women age 40 and older took advantage of early detection methods – mammography plus clinical breast exam – breast cancer death rates would drop much further, up to 30 percent,” says
“The key to mammography screening is that it be done routinely – once is not enough.”
For more information about NBCAM, please visit www.nbcam.org. For additional information, please call one of the following toll-free numbers: American Cancer Society,
(800) 227-2345, National Cancer Institute (NCI), (800) 4-CANCER, Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, (800) 221-2141.
The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month program is dedicated to increasing public knowledge about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Fifteen national public service organizations, professional associations, and government agencies comprise the Board of Sponsors, who work together to ensure that the NBCAM message is heard by thousands of women and their families.

General Comments about the Conference
The minute I heard about the Women's Lifestyle Conference, I signed up myself and my two daughters Nancy and Sue from Mitchell (I knew Ellen from Pierre was already coming). I also got a couple of my good friends to register. This conference exceeded my expectations and was a wonderful experience from the moment we got here until we left. I loved learning Texas Hold-em and I continue to work on my bucket list - this year I really am 81, so I still have plenty to do. As one of the Fairy Godmothers, I really am excited about women helping women and look forward to this conference growing and becoming a favorite event for all women in South Dakota.
